ChoiceI often seem to make bad choices. Choices in life are everything. They decide my future and what I make of my life. If it weren't for my bad choices in life I wouldn't have corrected the bad path I was on. It turned my bad choices into good ones. I started out cutting school, then I went to not going to school at all. Later on down the road I decided that being a High School drop out wasn't for me. I made the right choice by enrolling into West Side High School. Attending this school I made a bad choice by coming to school late which hasn't allowed me to get some of the credit that I need. With that bad choice came a good choice. I joined an AM class which allows me to get the credit that I need. In the poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost the traveler had to make a very important choice. He had two paths to choose from. One of the paths wasn't the cleanest and the other path was covered in grass and looked like it hasn't been walked on. The traveler choose to take the second path. His choice that he decided to make has made a big impact in his life and all the difference.In my life I had to make the same decision. In the short story "Dead End" by Rudolfo Anaya Maria is faced with very different choices. Maria made a promise to her mother before she died that education would always be number one. That she wouldn't end up like the women La Llorona."The young woman fell in love with a man. He was a sharp dresser, always had women around him. He made his living playing cards.He promised to love her, got her pregnant, and then he wouldn't help her." Maria also has a motherly duty of taking care of her little brother sister. "Once a week he gave Maria enough money to buy food for her and her younger brother and sister; otherwise, he returned only late at night. On weekends he was always gone." The choices that shes faced with has to deal with her fitting in with the in-crowd of popular girls from her school that's throwing their life away also hanging out with the Frankie the baddest boy in barrio who shes into or just staying focused in her studies. Ultimately she chooses to keep the promise she made to her mother. One night Frankie pulls up at her house to go for a drive and while there on the driveway
